What Baha'is Believe
Bahá'ís Believe ...

There is only one Loving Creator, known by different names in many languages.

We have been created to know and to love God.

The world's religions emanate from one God, who has given us one religious faith,
progressively revealed by a succession of divine Messengers throughout history.

The nature of the soul is eternal.

The human family is one, and prejudice must be eliminated.

Daily prayer and study of the Word of God is essential.

Living a moral life, centered on spiritual laws and principles, is vital.

Family life is a foundation of society and marriage is a fortress for well- being.

Women and men are equal in the eyes of God.

Universal education (including spiritual education) is important.

Religion must be harmonious with science and reason.

It is each individual's responsibility to pursue an independent investigation of the truth.

Nine, as the highest single-digit number, symbolizes completeness. The Bahá'í Faith regards humanity as an organic entity which has developed through its embryonic state to infancy, then to adolescence and is now coming of age, which is the state of fulfilment; so likewise the number nine reflects a sense of fulfilment or culmination and perfection. Bahá'í Houses of Worship, for example, have nine sides, and one commonly used symbol of the Bahá'í Faith is a nine-pointed star. Nine is the minimum number of members in a Spiritual Assembly or House of Justice, the administrative bodies elected by Bahá'ís around the world.
